"You should try the profiteroles in the Olive Branch. I hope they are still serving, because I have not seen it for a month!" - Alistair [Apr 2008]
"Excellently positioned across from the sea so you can almost believe you're in Greece... well, on sunny days or balmy nights anyway! Nicely decorated, especially upstairs, in simple, rustic style, just like you'd find on a Greek island. Friendly staff; authentic Greek food, well cooked and presented; not too big a choice, (always suspicious when there's a huge menu as half the stuff cannot be fresh food); my favourite beer, Mythos, is available; and the prices are very reasonable. Two of us went to the Olive Branch for our Christmas meal last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. It made such a lovely change to have a choice other than turkey or roast beef. The whole evening was superb. Greece, out of all the contries I've visited, is the one I fell in love with, so it's marvellous to have a Greek restaurant in our town." - Keith Cross [Apr 2008]
"I went in October 2007 and it was really nice: good starter (mixed Greek starter), good main, nice fish and fantastic homemade cheesecake. Have been back since and service was not as good as it was back then. More importantly the cheesecake has never been seen again. Gutted. Nowadays prefer Le Casablaca, it's BYOB and the portions are top too. Still it's a nice place, but not as nice as it was." - Anthony [Apr 2008]
"We went last week - the food was very good, great atmosphere and the staff friendly. We will go again next time we come to Aberystwyth." - Kim Allen, Sheffield [Mar 2008]
"I love it! I like the mixed Greek starter with tsatziki, taramossalata, guacomole, etc. The olives taste of good olives. A great selection of wines! The seating area, dining space is very nicely done - with the lighting. I would go as far and say that this place is one of the best these days in Aberystwyth, also the location. The waiters come to your table and ask if the food is all right. The coffee is very good - try the Cafe Latte Macchiato - you really get the three layers." - Annette Strauch, Machynlleth & Germany [Oct 2007]
"The carpet was very worn and dirty, though our table was set OK with some flowers and at least the room was warm. But then the waitress arrived and was surly from the onset. The food was dreadful. My starter was mashed feta cheese with chillies. Then my moussaka arrived alongside of it was boiled rice! Whatever for? Then the dreadful tasteless iceberg lettuce with overripe, tasteless wedges of tomatoes with a slice of onion perched on top. The Moussaka could have been anything from a sheperd's pie to savoury mince dish." - Margaret [Oct 2007]
