Hen Lew Du
Probably the most strongly Welsh pub in town with a pleasant, traditional interior.

"Yr dafarn Iwan..." - Malwoden Goch [Mar 2008]
"Yn gyn-fyfyriwr ac yn ymweld a'r Hen Lew Du yn gyson, dwi hyd at ddydd Sul wedi bod yn andros o hapus efo'r gwasanaeth, awyrgylch a chroeso cynnes y Llew. Mae Iestyn yn fonheddwr, ond yn anffodus roedd agwedd ac amharch un o weithwyr y Llew ar bnawn dydd Sul yn anerbyniol. Yn sicr dani gyd wedi bod i'n gwaith yn sal neu bach yn fregus o'r noson gynt ond mae taflu plat o fwyd a nodi nad yw hi 'in the mood for this' pan ofynwyd am blatiad o sglodion yn hollol ddi-gwilydd. Sori am orfod gwneud hyn Iestyn, mi gymai lot cyn cwyno." - Anon [Jul 2007]
"Gwych. At last, a pub in Aberystwyth that actually feels as if it's in Wales. Byddaf yn ol." - Ianto [Aug 2006]
"This place is a classic, and a throwback to every old Welsh pub you've ever seen in a movie from the 40s or 50s, even wartime! We did feel a bit intimidated at first - bunch of old geezers chattering away in Welsh who stopped chatting and weighed us up as we went in - but the bar lady very friendly and the side bar was a nice place to chill and chat. Would go back, but rather in a group of 4 not just 2 of us. Nice beer." - Dean & Pai [May 2006]
