Fresh Ground Cafe

Another of the new generation of Aberystwyth cafes and coffee shops, this is a modern, light and airy place to enjoy a drink or a snack.

Fresh Ground Cafe is also open quite late into the evenings, making it an excellent alternative to the pub for meeting with friends.

Great stuff. Coffee is superb and the food is always excellent. Must try the homemade burgers... Nice atmosphere. Champion.

"Fantastic staff, menu seems to improve every time I go. Always a great welcome, and the most amazing place to sit, read, eat cake and drink coffee hours after other coffee shops have shut. Great coffee. Try a latte with amaretto." - Anon [Feb 2008]

"It's great to go and sit to do some reading or chat with friends when you need a change of scenery from uni. The prices are great and the staff are really friendly." - Jessica [Dec 2007]

"Went back after a gap of about 6 months - found that standards seem to have dropped - floor was mucky and the tables and menus were sticky; they need to mop more frequently!" - Dee [Oct 2007]

"Coffee is great, it's fair trade, staff are kind and often talkative. I go in there a lot on my lunch hour and eat, never had a problem on time nor service!" - Gandalf [Oct 2007]

"Very child friendly, good food and great atmosphere. The kitchen can sometimes get swamped but the food's well worth the wait. One of Aberystwyth's best kept secrets." - Harry [Jul 2007]

"Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and great for meeting friends or just chilling. Tasty food and a good selection of drinks AND it's Fairtrade!" - Sheena [Jun 2007]

"We ordered two sandwiches which after an hour didn't arrive even though the place was almost empty. Will definately not be returning." - Beth [Feb 2007]

"Often far too many kids climbing over tables! Still a nice place to go for a speciality coffee and delicious cake. (Don't go on your lunch break though as service is often very slow)." - Heulwyn [Jan 2007]

"Nice atmosphere and pleasant interior. Loyalty card is good, but the wait for food is very long. On a busy Friday two bagels took around an hour to arrive! Waiting staff don't always understand the menu and what is on offer." - Dafydd Davies [Oct 2006]

"Only been open a short while but it's a favourite already. Excellent for meeting mates day or night, with good but non-intrusive service and excellent chocolate brownies!" - Alex [Jul 2006]

"High quality food freshly made, pleasant staff and a nice surrounding." - Hannah [Mar 2006]
