Aber Info - the Aberystwyth Guide
Aberystwyth is Mid Wales' main seaside resort, an established university town and an important administrative centre at the heart of Cardigan Bay.
Though it's located within a predominantly rural area, 'Aber' is a surprisingly lively place with a resident population of 12,000 swelled by over 8,000 students for much of the year. Aberystwyth is the largest town in the county of Ceredigion but it still retains a friendly, community feel that many an individual has found draws them back again and again.
For the holiday visitor, Aberystwyth offers a curious mix of unusual attractions such as an electric cliff railway, a Victorian camera obscura, the National Library of Wales and a sweeping promenade that sees much less rain than you may expect for Wales!
This characterful town also enjoys a great variety of pubs, cafés, restaurants and intriguing specialist shops that make it a really rather pleasant place to live or visit.
